About This Notice

We are committed to protecting your privacy and earning your trust. This privacy policy describes the personal information we collect about you as well as how we use and protect that information.

This privacy policy is specific to the personal information we collect about you when you access and view our web site regarding your interest in a franchise, when they become available, or in employment with our company. You may have additional privacy rights under applicable employment laws that not covered in this privacy policy. This policy does not pertain to the personal information that is collected about you when accessing our affiliate's toll-free tax preparation service or the on-line tax preparation service, at such time as it is available, because those services are subject to separate privacy policies.

Information we obtain

We collect information about you to provide information or services to you. This is called Nonpublic Personal Information ("NPI") because it identifies you and is not available to the public. We collect information from you in two different ways. During your visit to our web site, we collect information that you voluntarily provide through input templates so that we can provide information or services to you. We also collect information through the use of cookies, transparent GIFs, and log files for internal use only to understand what you want so that we can enhance your online experience at our web site.

Who might get information about me from you?

The use of your NPI is limited by law, our employee code of conduct, and written agreements where appropriate.

We restrict access to your NPI to our employees, affiliates, and contracted third party service providers who need your NPI to provide our services to you. We will also share your NPI, as appropriate, with the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities to carry out our contractual obligations to you. We will also share your information as required to prevent fraud, perform internal research, or comply with the law.

If you input your contact information on our web site in connection with a web site contest or survey, we may use your information for our marketing purposes.

If you input your contact information requesting information on a franchise opportunity, when they become available, we may provide that information at the appropriate time to a third party representative of ours who may contact you to communicate information regarding this opportunity.

We will not share your NPI with other companies for their marketing purposes without your consent. There is no need to "opt out" or to instruct us not to disclose your information for these purposes.

We do not share information obtained from cookies, transparent GIFs, or log files with third parties. This information is used for internal purposes to improve our web site and your online experience at our web site.

Why do you ask for my e-mail address?

We collect your e-mail address so that we can send you e-mails concerning your transactions with us. We will not share this information or your e-mail address with other companies for their marketing purposes without your consent.

What about web site security?

We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your NPI. Our security measures help ensure that your data is secured and encrypted, so that others cannot access it while in transit. We also limit access to our servers and require our employees to adhere to high standards of ethics and integrity in performing their jobs.

What about links to other web sites?

Our web site may contain links to other web sites that are not ours. These links are for your convenience. We do not endorse or approve third party web sites that are linked to our web site nor have we reviewed the privacy policies of those web sites (See Terms of Use page, paragraph 3). You should read the privacy policies of those web sites for your protection.

What does the technical jargon mean?

Cookie: A small text file that is saved on a web user's computer when the user accesses certain web pages. A cookie identifies a web user to a web site that gave the user the cookie so that it is easier, for example, for the user to access his or her account information. In most instances, the information we gather through a cookie does not personally identify the user.

Transparent GIF (Graphics Interchange Format): A tiny image file that is transparent to the user and used to track the online movements of the user. The information we gather through a transparent GIFs does not personally identify the user.

Log File: A file that maintains a log of every request that is made to a server, such as a web users internet protocol address, internet service provider, browser type, date and time of web access, and number of clicks the user has performed. A log file can also be used to get a good idea of where a web site's visitors are coming from, how often they return, and how they navigate through a particular web site. This information is used in the aggregate, and does not personally identify a user.

Internet protocol (IP) address: A string of numbers that are translated into a domain name and tied to a particular user.
